Guest post: Hurt feelings
Is there anyone out there who has managed to escape what we humans call “hurt feelings?” I hope there is; however, I can say I am not such a one.
acf domain was triggered too early. This is usually an indicator for some code in the plugin or theme running too early. Translations should be loaded at the init action or later. I don’t know about you, kittens, but I’m at the breaking point. Breaking news. Shattering stories. From every screen, every speaker, it just…keeps…shouting. Some of it is news. Some of it is smoke. All of it is exhausting. It’s time we said “ENOUGH YET ALREADY!” and broke some news of our own.
2015 has given us many gifts. Princess Bubblegum. Caffeinated peanut butter. Music for cats.
Oh, 2015, you’ve been a marathon year. We’re grateful. We’re hopeful. We’re tired.
Has it ever occurred to you that giving thanks is a radical act? That’s radical as in courageous maverick pioneer, not Point Break.
I’m sure this occurs to you all the time. In fact, it’s so obvious, it barely merits mention: Cats have a lot in common with the people of the Trobriand Islands.
You did not ask the cats for advice for what to do with yourself this Labor Day. Fortunately, cats like giving unsolicited advice.
You’ll often hear it said at Tabby’s Place that a cat was returned “for no fault of his own.” Humans mystify. Grace withholds judgment. So we simply focus on the innocence of the innocent: the cat. But, there are exceptions. Todd was returned to us this summer…for every fault of his own.
You can learn a lot when you listen. This year alone, we’ve learned that what kind of funk is gon’ give it to ya. We’ve learned that someone, somewhere, thought we needed a second Paul Blart: Mall Cop movie. And we’ve learned that cats are sheep are cats.
