Words too deep to understand

27703442011_953b24398c_kI had a regular blog post queued up for today, I did.

It was stupid and normal and made jokes about Swamp People and vegan cheese and cat flatulence.*

But in light of the week our world is having, stupid and normal and flatulent went out the window.

You don’t need me to tell you that humanity is hurting.

I certainly don’t know what to do in times like these. Frankly, I don’t even know how to pray. But I have it on unimpeachable authority that, when our hearts are broken and our tears are our food, Someone is praying through us with words too deep to understand.

So rather than offer any more weightless words, I present you with Tabby’s Place kittens reading the Sermon on the Mount.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.

Blessed are you, kittens, when you love your way through the darkness and peacefully force the light.

There will, there will, there will be light.

Kyrie Eleison.

*To which we shall return in good time. We honor the dead by praying and working and living and laughing on, even before dawn. Darkness has not conquered, and it cannot comprehend our hope and our laughter.
